Wilhelm Guillaume Koller (Austrian 1829 – 1884)

Guillaume Koller was active/lived in Austria.  Guillaume Koller is known for painting. Koller left his native Austria to study in Germany. He then moved to Belgium, where he specialized in painting subjects from 15th and 16th century history. Koller studied at the Academy there under Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller. His paintings usually draw from sixteenth-century German history. His work “The Summons” was purchased by Prince Albert at the Brussels Exhibition in October 1860 and was given to Queen Victoria as a Christmas present that year.  

Pupil of Vienna and Dusseldorf academies 1851-1855; lived in Antwerp in 1856-1859; then settled at Brussels; afterwards re-moved to Germany.
